The Climate Diet is one of our sustainability projects. It is a global sustainable food initiative that creates accessible recipes together with master chefs around the world to battle the effects of climate change. Our mission is to make people more aware of the impact of food on the environment and offer easy and healthy alternatives, that can be implemented in their daily lives.
We launched The Climate Diet in April 2018, announcing South Africa as our first country due to the major climate issue: water shortage. Together with local master chef Lapo Magni we revamped the traditional South African dish: bunny chow, in the dried up Theewaterskloof dam. The climate friendly version consumes 50% less water and has a minimized carbon footprint. In May 2018 we organized our first Climate Dinner at Lapo’s Kitchen where an intimate group of people enjoyed a 3-course climate friendly dinner cooked by Lapo Magni.
